Here are some of my recommended phones in the Philippines that could elevate your swimming experience.

Iphone SE

Boasting of a fast A15 Bionic microchip, this one stands out from the rest. You probably know iPhone’s capacity to bring pictures to life with its retina display.

Getting into the water is not an issue with its IP67 rating. It can be submerged under 1 meter for 30 minutes without problems. Of course, avoid saltwater as always.

Realme 12

Being outdoors in the swimming pool or the beach means sunlight will produce glare on your phone screen. With Realme 12, this is not a problem with its very bright screen of 2,000 Nit.

I became curious with this one since it has a cooling system with its stainless steel chamber. This is also a perfect feature to use under extreme sunlight.

Oppo Reno 12F

I like the high megapixel camera of this phone at 50 MP. I know that even in darker setting, pictures would be good especially at bonfires and night chit chats on the sand.

It’s ultra wide angle camera has 8 MP which should be enough to capture those sunsets at the beach while swimming.

Things to Consider

Take note of these factors when buying your phone as a swimmer.

Water Resistant

Obviosuly, you are always exposed to water. Be it in swimming pool or the sea. You need a phone that is waterproof. Many of them are but the higher the IPS rating the better.

The sand and saltwater are a big concern so if I were you, choose a phone that can withstand them.

My phone is water resistant but one of my problems is the type-c slot. It gives warnings about water droplets inside.

Be careful especially if battery is low, you won’t be able to charge immediately.

Screen Glare

You are always outdoor swimming to I expect that you will also be roasted under the sun. A phone with a bright display even under the sun is ideal.

Consider also a unit that has a higher operating temperature so it won’t get damaged easily under the extreme weather.

Long Battery Life

Being outdoor makes it more difficult to find a wall outlet to charge. Unless you have a power bank, it can be a hassle using a phone that drains up quickly.

Camera

As a swimmer, you also want to take that good snapshots of yourself under an ideal summer setting. Get a camera with a high resolution for that crisp images while you are in a bathing suit or trunks.
