ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy)
Is shockwave treatment covered by HMO? Many HMOs cover Shockwave (ESWL) treatment for their members. The benefit is included in the medical procedure segment which may come within the out patient or emergency room clause.
Price of Coverage
Your health card limit will predict how much of the ESWL will be covered. The usual price of shockwave treatment in the Philippines for kidney stones may range from Php 45,000 to Php 65,000. The actual cost will be covered by your HMO if you have not consumed your limit per year.
The price is considered to be a package rate including the procedure, the doctor’s fee and anesthesiologist fee. It is less of Philhealth and Senior Citizen discount if applicable.

Additional Expenses
